PULIKURUMBA: A sleepy village in the remote area of Kannur, Pulikurumba has not much to claim or boast of its past glory. Truly, it is a developing location in terms of physical and social amenities. If we look into its old face, one can trace the hardships of the settler families in the region. Most of the inhabitants are people from the South and Central part of Kerala. Kottayam people however dominate the region. Education witnessed a boom in the area with the opening of St. Joseph’s L.P. School. Changes started in the region with the consecration of the St. Augustin’s Church. Later on, Upper Primary and High School came up in the region catering to a huge chunk of the rural population. Earlier, people in the region were destined to depend on nearby schools in Naduvil, Chemperi, Sreekandapuram and Thaliparamba.
